Just A Little Healing Mask

A huge thank you to The Healing Tree for sending me these Collagen Face Masks for Acne Prone Skin to review. I tried one earlier this week, and the mask has a relaxing minty scent and feels very cooling on the skin.

This mask is both environmentally friendly (it even uses biodegradable paper) and filled with effective ingredients. See below:

Fish Collagen – Did you know fish collagen is a Type 1 collagen that absorbs more efficiently than any other form of collagen? It is a great anti-aging ingredient that makes the skin look smoother and firmer while increasing cell regeneration.
Calendula – Extracted from Marigolds, Calendula oil is thought to possess antibacterial and anti-inflammatory elements, which makes it a common skincare ingredient to fight and clear up acne.
Tea Tree Oil – Tea Tree Oil is known to have a lot of benefits for skin. It has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antiseptic elements, making it a great ingredient to fight acne, soothe skin and itchiness and even help heal wounds.

After using this face mask, I did not notice much of an immediate difference in my skin… BUT, in the following days, I did notice that my breakouts started to clear up. That said, if you are looking for a mask that works instantly, this might not be for you. But if you are ok waiting a couple days for the ingredients of this mask to improve your skin, you should totally check it out.

A Panacea For Breakouts

A few weeks ago, Panacea sent me this Daily Facial Cleanser to try. I have been using it ever since… and I kinda love it!

This creamy cleanser does a great job of cleansing your face without drying it out thanks to a perfect combination of the below ingredients:

Moisture Shield Complex – made up of Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin and Methylpropanediol, this complex leaves the skin radiant and moisturized.
Laminaria Japonica – this Japanese seaweed removes toxins, leaving behind glowing skin.
Vitamin E – this antioxidant prevents UV damage and protects the skin from free radicals.
Green Tea Extract – this antioxidant has anti-aging and skin soothing benefits.
Fig Extract – this ingredient is known to increase skin hydration and can decrease the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne.

Ever since I started using this Panacea cleanser, I have noticed that it helps my skin keep that healthy glow while reducing the number of breakouts. Plus, a little bit of this stuff goes a long way. Toner… It’s the often forgotten step in a skincare routine that can make a huge difference in the appearance of your skin. It removes the remaining dirt your cleanser missed, levels out your skin’s pH balance, can help hydrate your skin and even allow the products you use afterwards to absorb better.

As far as toners go, I have been using California Pure Naturals Clarifying Toner for the past month. It has their signature Blackberry Antioxidant Complex that brightens and energizes the skin along with Black Tea, Rose Geranium and Cucumber to soothe the skin, minimize pores and even out your skin tone.

Not Your Favorite Dry Shampoo

In a world where we are always on the go, dry shampoo has become a must, but finding one that works can be a challenge. That’s why I was excited when this Not Your Mother’s Refreshing Dry Shampoo was part of my Influenster Let It Snow Vox Box. Another dry shampoo to try. Maybe this one will be a winner.

This dry shampoo is part of Not Your Mother’s Natural line and smells really good. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive part of this review ends. This product only worked ok for my hair. A little background – I have always had oily roots, and even with a great dry shampoo, my hair can only go two days without a wash. When I used this Not Your Mother’s product, I had to spray a ton of it on my hair, and my hair still didn’t get through the second day (and forget about being able to wear it down). That said, I do believe this would work well for a lot of people, just not me.

My go-to dry shampoo is still Batiste. And don’t forget the dry shampoo trick… Spray it on before bed, so it soaks up all the oils while you sleep.
