A “Yeouthful” Ingredient – Retinol

I don’t know about you, but as each year ticks by, I continue to search for products that will help keep my skin looking “yeouthful.” Retinol is a great ingredient to do just that… And when combined with the ingredients of Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E and Aloe, you have Yeouth Skincare’s Retinol 2.5 Serum.

Ingredients:

  • Retinol – Retinol is a form of Vitamin A that stimulates the renewal of skin cells, therefore diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smoothing out the skin and even preventing acne outbreaks.
  • Hyaluronic Acid – This is a miracle ingredient that hydrates the skin and stimulates cell regeneration.
  • Vitamin E – This antioxidant protects the skin from free radicals and reduces skin damage caused by UV rays. It is also commonly referred to as a “wound healer.”
  • Aloe – This ingredient is known to soothe the skin and reduce irritations and inflammations.

The Verdict: I have been using this serum for the past few weeks, and while it can take months to see the full benefits of retinol, but I have noticed my skin smoothing out.

Please note – Since this product contains retinol, my skin has been more sensitive to exfoliants and certain ingredients since I started using it. But the redness does go away after about half an hour, and the Aloe and Hyaluronic Acid help keep the skin soothed and moisturized.

For The Mud Of A Sheet Mask

I love mud masks for detoxifying the skin. They help clear up acne, minimize pores, exfoliate, fight the signs of aging and give the skin a deep cleanse.

Now, imagine that mud mask is a turned into a sheet mask. That is exactly what Patchology did with their SmartMud Detox Mask. It’s a mud mask without the mess… well, at least most of the mess. LOL. It is a little messy with application because the mud on the sheet, but much better than taking it straight out of a jar.

The Verdict: This 2 piece mud mask is another Pathology winner! Using volcanic ash sourced from South Korea, this mask left my skin deeply cleansed and glowing.

A Shot Of Hydration… Mask

Processed With Darkroom

This week’s face mask may not be pretty, but it sure does give a “shot” of hydration.

With this cold winter weather (and feeling a little under the weather), my skin has been really dry so it seemed like the perfect time to try Dr. Jart+’s Shake & Shot Rubber Hydro Mask. I had been eyeing this mask for a while and love that it’s a little different. Two pouches come in this cup, and you pour both pouch contents into it and shake until you have a mask! How fun?!

This mask feels refreshingly cool when applied to the skin, and with a combination of Vitamin B5 and an “expert moist complex” it sure does deliver on the hydration. You should totally check it out.

And word to the wise… be careful when opening the pouches to pour the contents into the cup for mixing so you don’t end up with a big mess on your bathroom counter… LOL.

Add A Little Panda… Mask

Happy Face Mask Friday! So ever since I was a little girl at the San Diego Zoo, I have loved pandas. My sorority’s mascot was a panda. Even my oldest daughter’s nursery was panda themed (and that was before you could find panda room decor… thank goodness Etsy was an option!), so when I saw this SNP Panda Brightening Sheet Mask, I knew I had to try it. Plus, with all this cold and gloomy winter weather, my skin has been looking a little dull.

This Panda mask is super fun and easy to use. After cleansing your face, apply this mask, leave it on for 10-20 minutes, massage the remaining serum into your face afterwards and your done.

But what did I think of this super cute mask? While my skin didn’t necessarily appear brighter, it was very soothing and refreshing and I would use it again.

Oh So Serum…

Processed With Darkroom

I don’t know about you, but I love face serums. They can be the key to a great skincare routine with the ability to do amazing things for your skin. That said, I was super excited to try California Pure Naturals Renewal Facial Serum. It has the same Blackberry Antioxidant Complex as their Cleanser, plus Argan Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. And it’s a natural skincare product.

I have been using this serum for the past few weeks, and so far I am happy with the results. It has a nice, smooth texture, is easy to apply, absorbs well into the skin, helps keep my skin hydrated (I’ve seriously gone without a moisturizer a couple nights, and my skin was still moisturized!) and all the right ingredients to fight the signs of aging.

*Please note I was gifted this serum to review.

A Mudd Of A Mask

It’s time for another Face Mask Friday! Over the holidays I picked up the PUR Cosmetics/Grinch movie face mask collab set so I could try PUR’s four best-selling face masks.

This week I tried the Dirty Girl Detoxifying Mudd Mask with Clay. Overall, I was pleased with the results. This mask definitely gave my face a deep clean and my skin felt smoother afterwards.

The downsides of this mask were that it was hard to remove and that my skin was really red for about an hour after using this mask, so it is probably not great for those with sensitive skin.

Naughty… or Nice Face Mask

Processed With Darkroom

Now, if this is the lump of coal Santa leaves, it may be ok to be a little naughty… Just kidding! Or am I???

So I tried this Lump Of Coal face mask from Bath and Body Works. It’s infused with purifying charcoal and claims to revitalize and rejuvenate the skin. I would say it did just that. My face felt cleansed and refreshed when I removed it. Perfect for a makeup free Friday!

Overall, much better than the other Bath and Body Works mask I tried. Since this one was successful, I plan to try out more of their masks in the coming weeks and months. Stay tuned!
