Who remembers when Too Faced came out? I know I do! Because of this, I finally decided to pick up their Then & Now palette. It features both their original colors from 1998 and their updated versions of the colors for 2018.
The verdict… I love it! Too Faced has always made some of my fav palettes, and this one is now my new everyday go to.
Don’t forget to vote! This is an important election, and your voice matters. And while you’re doing your civic duty, why not do it in style? I chose to wear this Isaac Mizrahi poncho. It’s super comfy and warm. While this one is no longer available, I have linked similar looks at the link below. Enjoy!
It’s Face Mask Friday, and this week I am focusing on the face mask I use the most – Kate Somerville’s ExfoliKate. It’s frequently dubbed the 2-minute Hollywood Facial because it has a large celebrity following and you only leave it on for 2 minutes and see immediate results. This is a huge plus for me, because let’s be honest, between work, kids and life in general, we don’t always have time to sit around in a face mask for 20-30 minutes. I literally incorporate this into my shower routine once a week. Definitely recommend.
I am super excited because my Fall FabFitFun box arrived! If you haven’t heard of FabFitFun, it’s a Subscription Box service that comes out four times a year. It typically comes with around 8-10 full size products that are trending and useful for the season. My fall box included a bunch of goodies. See the list below: including

3. Beauty Blender

5. Cylo wireless headphones
6. Alfred Coffee Press
7. Grown Alchemist Cleanser
8. Farmacy Dew It All Eye Cream

For my birthday dinner, I met up with a friend and we dined at EnVie in Lansing. The meal was scrumptious and hit the spot. The drinks were tasty, the cheese plate was delish, the sauce on the Filet Mignon was interesting and had an underlying sweetness to it. And the cookie dough cheesecake was the perfect way to end a yummy meal. If you’re looking for a nice dinner place in mid-Michigan, you should check it out.
It’s my birthday and Face Mask Friday, so I’m enjoying a little self care time and trying GlamGlow’s Supermud Clearing Treatment to fight those pesky breakouts.
UPDATE – My skin did clear up after using this mask. The verdict – it works!
Who else thought we were done with acne once we were through the teenage years? I know I did. Wishful thinking! I’ve found breakouts are almost worse now, so I love these Corsx Acne Pimple Master Patches. As soon as a zit pops up, place one of these patches on it then remove when it turns white over the breakout and soaked up all the oil. It cuts the time of a breakout dramatically, and you can even see the gunk on the patch itself. You should totally check it out.
What can I say, I love my pizza. Especially the pizza of my childhood. And the pizza place that my hubby asked my parents permission to marry me (mind you, I was there and a part of the conversation – we are a very modern family). Donato’s holds a special place in my heart. And don’t get me wrong, I love a tasty New York slice, a Chicago deep dish or a Neapolitan-style pie, but nothing compares to Donato’s thin crust pizza for me. And it’s all about the crust. It has a flavor that is truly addicting. I could eat a whole pizza myself! All of that said, no trip to Ohio is complete without a stop at this old-time favorite. If you ever see a Donato’s, I suggest you give it a try. You won’t be disappointed!
What can I say? My family likes to go to amusement parks. Well, really it’s my kids who LOVE to go to amusement parks. Now that we live in Michigan, we frequent Cedar Point and have checked out Michigan Adventure, but this time we decided to go to King’s Island in Ohio. It has been years since I’ve been to King’s Island (I won’t say how many because that would totally date me), but we were excited to go and see what it had to offer. And let me tell you, we road roller coasters, log rides, raging rivers and so much more. We also got to pet and feed animals, eat funnel cakes and have an all around good time. I would actually say out of Cedar Point, Michigan Adventure and King’s Island, King’s Island was the favorite with the kids (which is slightly surprising because it felt like the smallest of the three), but the lines weren’t too long and we had a great day of family fun… until the end. When we were trying to get a family pic, my oldest’s hand was accidentally sat on and the tears ensued. Needless to say, my family pic turned into a single shot of me… Oh well. Thus is mom life. LOL.
I have decided that every Friday (or at least almost every Friday) I’m going to write about a Face Mask. So Happy Face Mask Friday! This week I decided to try a face mask that has been sitting in my closet for a bit – the Holika Holika Baby Pet Magic Sheet Mask in the Anti-Wrinkle Pug… because I have my own adorable pug. She was my first baby and my forever fur baby. But what did I think of the mask? It was a very refreshing and moisturizing facenmask. While I did not see any immediate anti-wrinkle results, I would definitely use it again.
